Qualifiche di accesso | Diploma di Laurea (laurea di primo livello) You must hold a first-cycle degree (i.e. bachelor’s degree) in Animal Science or Agricultural Science or otherwise similar degrees gained after at least 3 years of University education. You will also need to meet specific admission requirements and demonstrate a suitable academic preparation and a solid background in agriculture and livestock production systems and skills in plant and animal productions as well as agriculture economy. These admission requirements are considered achieved in case the applicant has previously obtained at least 60 ECTS credits in core and specialized training activities as follows: • at least 20 ECTS in: Experimental physics, Didactics and history of physics, Informatics, Mathematical logic, Operational research, Economics, Economic policy, Veterinary anatomy, General botany, Systematic botany, Environmental and applied botany,Plant physiology, Zoology, Ecology, General and inorganic chemistry, Organic chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular biology, Clinical biochemistry and molecular biology, Experimental biology; The evaluation Committee will also assess candidate’s personal preparation through in-person and web interviews. Candidate’s adequate personal preparation will be assessed focusing on basic knowledge as specified in the Syllabus below: • Livestock production: knowledge of livestock anatomy, physiology, morphology and functioning; animal feed nutrients and livestock nutritional needs, animal feed rationing; qualitative and quantitative genetic improvement. Adequate written and oral proficiency in English, including technical vocabulary, is also required. Panoramica
The Master’s degree in Animal Science aims at meeting the needs of both graduates with previous work experience, wishing to improve their professional status, and graduates holding a first-cycle degree, willing to improve their skills in livestock farming.
This Master’s degree program aims at training skilled professionals in the field of the production chain of food of animal origin and feed, the quality and safety of forages and feeds, taking into consideration both livestock and pet animals nutritional requirements, the environmental balance, the conservation and protection of animal biodiversity in the livestock production sector, and the animal welfare. Furthermore, the course aims to improve knowledge in animal feeding management, technical management of the animal feeding industry and of the industry of food of animal origin, as well as product marketing. Another objective of this program is to provide graduates with a global perception of the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course, in order to organize and apply it to an environment of limited resources and to find the most sustainable technical solution in livestock-farming.

Graduates in this Master’s degree are highly skilled to perform management tasks in the livestock production chains, the animal feeding industry (included pet animal feeding) with a high degree of responsibility.
