First cycle diploma ( BA, Ungergraduate diploma)
To enrol in a second-cycle degree programme (i.e. master’s degree) with no admission quotas, you must hold a first-cycle degree (i.e. bachelor’s degree) of at least a 3 year-duration. You will also need to meet specific admission requirements and demonstrate adequate personal knowledge. Candidates must be in possession of: Adequate skills and knowledge in these subjects: Greek language and literature, Latin language and literature, Ancient history and Philological techniques. It is mandatory that the candidate has acquired at least 20 ECTS (or passed 4 exams) in subjects involving the knowledge of classical languages. The cultural adequacy of the candidates will be verified through an oral test conducted in italian language (also possible via Skype).
The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: Italian / English / French / Spanish.
Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.
These documents shall be written or translated in one of the following languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish. If the document is issued in a different language from those listed above, you will have to upload both the original document and its certified translation.
You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.
Your knowledge of Italian language will be verified during the admission interview.

The Master’s degree in Philology, Literatures and History of Antiquity, allows the student to know original texts of Classical civilization directly in the original languages and to analyse them from linguistic, literary, philological, papyrological, palaeographical and historical point of view, thanks to the most updated scientific methodologies. The course offers the opportunity to translate, interpret and comment texts of Latin and Greek literature from their respective origins to their medieval and humanistic outputs; moreover, it aims at acquiring multidisciplinary skills as the reception of the Ancient from medieval to modern and contemporary times included the didactics of humanities and digital humanities.
Il Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Filologia, letterature e storia dell’antichità consente allo studente di conoscere, attraverso le più aggiornate metodologie scientifiche, i testi della civiltà classica direttamente nelle lingue originali e di analizzarli dal punto di vista linguistico, letterario, filologico, papirologico, paleografico, storico; di tradurre, commentare e interpretare i testi delle letterature in lingua latina e greca dalle rispettive origini fino ai loro esiti medievali e umanistici e di acquisire inoltre conoscenze e competenze di carattere interdisciplinare, come quelle relative alla ricezione dell’antico nelle età medievale, fino a quelle moderna e contemporanea, alla didattica delle discipline umanistiche o all’informatica umanistica.
