Overview

The Master’s degree programme in Chemistry aims at providing the student with high-level knowledge in the practice of activities directed to scientific and technological chemistry-related innovation. The aim is to train a graduate with high-level competences on the different chemistry disciplines, in order to follow a career in both private and public sectors, which are characterised by an interest on basic and applied research for the transfer of technological innovation in chemistry.
Chemistry is a basic science with strong implication on everyday life and on technological development of society, with an essential role on the improvement of life quality. Chemists are devoted both to research, finalized to different objectives, and to materials production, often produced with innovative processes. Next to pharmaceutical design, which have always been primary to intervene in sustaining life processes, chemical research is directed to the preparation of new materials for different sectors, of colourants, of fertilisers and of fuels. The effort to look for eco-compatible processes is a primary responsibility for the solution of the pollution issues.
With such an approach, the contribution of chemistry is crucial for a society, which looks at the future defending the combination health / technological development.
